Integral Yoga Teachers Satya and Sadasivam Greenstone will conduct at Quinta da Calma, Algarve, the Integral Yoga Basic Hatha Yoga Teacher Training according to the Integral Yoga teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda. The course is divided into two parts, which will take place in March and October 2011.

What is Integral Yoga?
Integral Yoga is a complete Yoga that integrates all aspects of life and maintains our natural condition of an easeful body, peaceful mind and useful life. It combines various methods of Yoga, including the physical postures, breathing practices and relaxation techniques (Hatha Yoga), selfless service (Karma Yoga), devotions and prayer (Bhakti Yoga), meditation techniques (Rája Yoga), mantra repetition (Japa Yoga) and Self-inquiry (Jnana Yoga).
Basic Hatha Yoga Teacher Training
Basic Hatha Yoga Teacher Training The journey to become a Yoga teacher is one on which many embark. It is a service like no other. Some people take Basic Hatha Yoga Teacher Training because of a deep desire to share Yoga through teaching it; other people have no desire to teach and want to use our intensive training structure to expand their personal practice and experience Yoga on a deeper level. We welcome all sincere seekers who have been practicing Yoga for at least six months to explore this path with us. In this Basic Teacher Training program, you will build a firm foundation in Integral Yoga.
The Integral Yoga Hatha Teacher Training is a comprehensive, month-long residential program that teaches you the skills necessary to instruct beginners’ level Integral Yoga Hatha. This basic class, taught to thousands of students at Integral Yoga Institutes and Centers around the world, is utilized by many professionals worldwide.
The Beginners I class consists of ásanas (Yoga Poses), deep relaxation, pránáyáma (breathing practices), chanting and meditation. You will receive training in teaching all the aspects of this class. The Integral Yoga approach is suitable for complete beginners and is taught in an easeful, highly meditative manner. The student is guided to a deep level of physical and mental well being, vitality and relaxation, promoting flexibility, strength and health for the entire system.
Curriculum includes:
- In-depth study and practice of Integral Yoga
- Special emphasis on theory and practice of Hatha Yoga
- Workshops to deepen your personal practices
- Classes in diet, nutrition, anatomy and physiology
- An introductory course in Raja Yoga, the psychology of yoga
- Instruction in meditation, breathing practices and chanting
- Classes in adapting yoga poses for special populations and needs

The Basic Integral Hatha Yoga Class, taught in this course, is a carefully designed sequence of postures that ends with deep relaxation, breathing practices and meditation. This unique class helps students gain a profound sense of peace and well-being. It stands alone as a comprehensive and complete Yoga practice. Participants in this program will learn to practice and instruct this class.
Prerequisite:
Students need to have been practicing Hatha Yoga for a minimum of six months prior to taking the program. We recommend attending at least ten Integral Yoga Hatha classes. If you are unable to attend Integral Yoga classes, you may practice with a video or audiotape of the class, so you can become more familiar with the Integral Yoga style of Yoga practice.

Satya and Sadasivam Greenstone Satya and Sadasivam Greenstone have practiced, lived and shared the teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda for more than 40 years — in schools, hospitals, prisons, universities, and Yoga Centers around the world. Together, they started the Yogaville Vidyalayam (school for children) at the Satchidananda Ashram in Connecticut and at Yogaville, Virginia, USA. They conduct teacher training programs, silent retreats, and workshops in Europe, India and the United States. They express a depth of knowledge in the classic works of India and have the ability to convey ancient wisdom in a manner that is both light-hearted and illuminating.
