Portugal: Saluting for Charity & World Peace Day in the Algarve
Vale de Lobo – Algarve | 21 September, 2013
Saluting for Charity is a fundraiser for local charities in the Algarve. Please join this practice and help raising much needed funds by Saluting for Charity with 108 rounds of the Sun Salutation – these rounds can be completed in teams or individually. There will also be a silent meditation for those wanting to join in the event. The practice will take place at 9:30am at Breeze, Vale do Lobo Praça in Vale de Lobo, Loulé, Algarve.
The event is held on World Peace Day, to bring more awareness to this day.
The fundraising is set in the spirit of service which is in the heart of Yoga. Luckshmi (Lucy) Cannon, Yoga teacher at Quinta da Calma and Luísa Mckay, founder of Lulushanti Yoga, and under the auspices of of SIS Project – Service in Satchidananda – will be leading this fundraising.
This year’s fundraising will be towards helping 5 charities: C.A.S.A., Canil de San Francisco de Assis, Little Miracles – Onyom (SIS) , The Refúgio dos Burros (The Donkey Sanctuary) and Peta Birch Community Association.
Due to the success of the last years charity events arranged by Lulushanti Yoga, more Yoga teachers are joining together to host another ‘SALUTING FOR CHARITY’ event.
