What community is all about – The Awakened Life Project – with Teresa Leite Gonçalves in Benfeita, Coja – Arganil – Coimbra.
Have you ever thought what it is like to live in a community? Have you thought of creating your own? Here is your chance to emerge in a community for a week, where you will have access to the founders of the project and to all the residents. They will be happy to answer any of your questions.
You will engage with the work as the community does and learn what the challenges and intricacies are while at the same time you can enjoy beautiful nature, dipping in the waterfalls and relaxing in a hammock. The Awakened Life Project, located in Serra do Açor, is an ongoing revelation, an ongoing unfolding. If you are interested in an approach to spiritual awakening and the creation of a new culture that is integral, profound and contemporary then please join us in this adventure.

The ALP Story
The seed that was to become The Awakened Life Project was sown when Pete and Cynthia bought the abandoned mountain farm of Quinta da Mizarela in Central Portugal in 2007. This huge leap into the unknown was propelled by their shared vision to create a beautiful place dedicated to the liberation of the human spirit in a context of communion with the surrounding nature.
While trust in the vision was strong how it would manifest was completely unknown. Then the magic started to happen and with the inspired participation of an international stream of volunteers, some of whom stayed and became residents and co-creators for periods of time, the project has developed into an international movement with its base at Quinta da Mizarela blossoming into a small residential community and retreat centre.

I met the Awakened Life Project 8 years ago and my life changed drastically. This community is much more than spirituality or meditation, it is about shifting your perspective about how you see yourself, your relationships towards people, work, money, etc. It is about embarking on a lifestyle that truly inspires you and whoever is around you. We will spend these 8 days together and I hope you will be as impacted as I have been.
