US: “Overcoming Fear with Faith”- Retreat with Nalanie Chellaram at Satchidananda Áshram – Yogaville
Buckingham – Virginia | 2 – 6 June, 2010
Nalanie Chellaram will be giving a workshop at the Satchidananda Áshram in Yogaville – Virginia, in the United States.
Everyone experiences fear: fear of the unknown; fear of failure; fear of not being good enough; fear of the state of the world; fear of being unsuccessful; fear of the dark; fear of heights – the list is endless. If not addressed, fear deepens into phobias; phobias into panic, and we are at risk of being totally lost.
During this retreat, we will have the opportunity to look deep into our fears and receive guidance on understanding and transcending them. In order to live an “easeful, peaceful, and useful life”, as our beloved Gurudev Swami Satchidananda states, we need to dive deep into the meaning of our true existence-accepting life “as it is”. Fear traps us into wanting to control and to stop the flow of life. By developing faith and with the realization that we are Spirit, alleviation from fear happens. We realize that life is a beautiful illusion – yet so real – and learn to live in the world with fearlessness and total faith.
About Satchidananda Áshram and the Lotus Temple
The Áshram of Yogaville was founded by Nalanie’s beloved master Sri Swami Satchidananda and includes the beautiful Lotus Temple: The Light of Truth Universal Shrine, built in Yogaville in 1986. Lotus celebrates the unity behind the diversity of the world religions. Open to people of all faiths to meditate and pray, this shrine uses the universal symbol of light as the symbol of the Divine. It is the first shrine ever built to house altars for every major faith and also faiths less well-known and those not yet known.
“More people have died in the name of God and religion than in all the wars and natural calamities. But, the real purpose of any religion is to educate us about our spiritual unity. It is time for us to recognize that there is one truth and many approaches. The basic cause for all the world problems is the lack of understanding of our spiritual unity. The need of the hour is to know, respect, love one another and to live as one global family. Our humble aim in building the Lotus is to spread this message.”
H. H. Sri Swami Satchidananda, founder of Lotus
