Portugal – Caldas da Rainha: Kírtan with Mangalam Live
Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 16.30h, Mangalam will be in Centro de Yoga Kundaliní, in Caldas da Rainha, for one more Sat Sanga and Kírtan.
Mangalam, which means happiness in sanskrit, is the name of the Portuguese group that is devoted to the practice of the kírtan. Kírtan are the songs of Yoga, forms of mantras usually done in a more relaxed way and consisting on the repetition of the different names of the facets of the absolute, of Brahman. Mangalam try to preserve and to disseminate the tradition of Yoga through their kírtan. Their music combines the kírtan tradition with more contemporary sonorities. In their concerts spectators don’t exist as such… all are actors of those moments of sharing and relationship with the Universe that involves us.
